Review For Skullcandy Indy
Affordable Wireless Headphones!!!
Skullcandy Indy Design
Skullcandy Indy earbuds are part of the growing pipe-style wireless models available on the market. The buds look significant compared to AirPods but have a lower price.
Furthermore, the buds have noise-isolation provided with the silicone tips to seal off the ear canal muffling out external noise.
These earbuds are softer and have no open design present, letting in sound. The charging case is extensive but not massive. The charging case is not difficult to open, and inserting the buds are comfortable. Further, the stability gels removable to get a better fit.
On the other hand, the buds hold fast magnetically to the charging points when placed in the case. Regrettably, you need to put them with the ear tips as the buds do sink in far into the charging slots.
What’s more, you get three LEDs on the front indicating how much powers left in the case. On the earbuds, the LEDs glow red while charging.
A significant negative with the charging case is the micro USB charge as most devices work with USB-C charging. Some user may love or hate this, but there are no physical buttons on the earbuds. You get a touch control on the outside casing.
Therefore, it works with gestures you need to learn, and everything is done with tapping the left and right bud. To control volume down, you use the left bud while the right one turns the volume up.
Alternatively, you can use the left bud to track and tap and the right one to forward tracks.
Are the Skullcandy Indy earbuds comfortable?
Yes, you get a comfortable and tight seal using the largest ear tips included in the set. Furthermore, the earphones IPP55 certified.
Therefore, you can use them in the gym and outdoors in light rain. When running a couple of miles, we found the buds remained secure in the ear.
However, we cannot promise these will stay secure in your ear, so try to get a comfortable and secure fit before heading to the gym.
How well do the earbuds function and pair?
Pairing the Skullcandy Indy earphones is quick and easy. Once you open the charging case lid, the lights on the buds start-flashing letting you know it is ready to connect with the phone.
Another bummer is you cannot remove one earbud to use it by itself and need to remove both of them for pairing. Once the buds are connected, you can place the left earbud back in the casing.
However, you cannot place the right bud back and use the left one only as it disconnects.
Now for the most crucial part, the sound.
The sounds impressive with a wide selection of music and depends on the source of the music. For instance, you may find using it on Spotify disappointing while Amazon Prime Music gives an excellent bass, mids, and highs.
We found no problems using the earbuds with streaming video using Netflix and YouTube. The audio syncs well with the video, and you see no delay.
Even making and receiving calls is evident on both ends. However, as the ear tips do fit snug in the ear, you may hear yourself talking.
On the other hand, we did find random connection drops using different apps but not consistent and does not happen frequently.
The drops happen whether you are walking around or sitting at your desk. Personally, it could be the phone brand you use and best to test it with other devices as well.
Furthermore, you can get 4-hours of battery use with additional three charges using the charging case.
