Inside the Parrot, you get a three-axis gyroscope, ultrasonic sensor, and three-axis accelerometer with the vertical camera. There is a pressure sensor making it able for you to fly it inside or outside.
For the rolling part, it has two wheels attached to the top of the Spider to drive it up and down a wall, ceiling, or the ground.
The biggest problem when flying indoors is the propellers that do not have loads of protection and is the first thing you will replace.
Therefore, for the purpose, you should use it outdoors instead, as there is only one set of propellers in the box. Furthermore, with the wheels, you get a micro USB cable, one battery, and stickers.
Similar to the Parrot larger drone, you fly the quadcopter using your Smartphone and the downloaded app. You can download the application to your iOS or Android device.
The craft connects via Bluetooth with your device, and everything is automatic. All you do is turn the Spider on and combine it with the device.
Once it connects the app launches and you are ready to fly. Flying the Spider, you can do with or without the wheels attached. Tapping the take off button starts the propellers and sends the drone up to start hovering.
The fantastic thing is it does it out of the box and needs no additional settings.
Different flight modes to use
Used in the normal manner you raise and lower the drone with the joystick found on the right side. Alternatively, you can also rotate it with the joystick to the left or right.
For moving the quadcopter in any direction, you need to keep your thumb down on the right joystick and tilt the device in the path where you want it to go.
When it goes into a different direction, you lift your thumbs off the controls, and it stops. On the other hand, it also has an Ace mode placing the joystick on the left side to use with one-finger operation.
Therefore, you can do 90°, and 180° quick turns with the Spider. By switching to the Joypad mode, you can use your Smartphone camera to capture video of the flight.

Once in the air, your takeoff push button alters to the landing switch and with a light tap, it descends to the ground. Furthermore, you get a cut-off emergency switch as well as sending the quadcopter crashing to the ground.
However, attaching the wheels helps make it bounce around a bit. On the other hand, you can also roll around with it in different directions.
To do different stunts with your spider, you can download the manual or watch videos on YouTube. Alternatively, you can do free-fall take-off, complete flips, and more.
For capturing stills, it has a vertical-camera equipped, and the quality is excellent. You can also take the drone up to 33 feet for exciting shots.
However, the battery use is brief, lasts up to eight minutes, and takes nearly an hour to charge.

Why Should You Buy It?

You will be amazed at all the features Parrot included in the drone with the small size. With your Smartphone and the app, you change it into a controller to power the height and speed of the drone.
The rolling wheels help prevent crashes when used on surfaces, and you can use it to do tricks at the same time. You can fly it three meters above ground, and the pressure sensor offers excellent stabilization.
Furthermore, you can record footage using the equipped camera and the app. While you can find cheaper quadcopters loaded with better cameras, the Rolling Spider remains an excellent option to drive and fly.
We found the Parrot MiniDrone Rolling Spider gives you an excellent flight performance and has a durable design. However, it is not for professional pilots and more for people who want to have.
While the quirks are not as high, found in another brand, it remains a fun toy to fly and do tricks. We recommend the drone for beginners but still feel professionals will love using it as well.
A fact is we cannot deny that the quadcopter is not a good drone. You can use it with your mobile device to control the quadcopter making it one less tool to hold in your hand.
So would we suggest you buy it? Yes if you want to have fun and no if, you need something more professional to use. Check it out today and decide for yourself.
