Review of JBL Live 650BTNC

The Live 650BTNC is a successor to the JBL E65BTNC that is currently more affordable. Your first impression will be it feels like plastic and cheap.

However, it has a solid build and weighs 9.28 ounces with metal hinges that hold up well. You can get them in various colors black, white, and dark blue.

For travel, they fold compact and flat to place in the canvas-carrying pouch. Once set they are comfortable but not as comfy as the Quiet Comfort 35 II.

The ear pads thick and even the headbands padded well. While it is an over-ear model, you should not have a problem with the fit.

Compared to other over-ear earphones, these uses Bluetooth 4.2 connection and connects with multiple devices. You can tweak the link with the My JBL Headphone application.

Furthermore, you can use it with your iOS or Android device. Another fantastic function is it works with Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri.

To call up the voice assistant, you tap on the middle of the left ear cup. The controls touch sensitive, and you can adjust the bass or treble using the Preset EQ sets on the app.

So does the Live 650BTNC have a great sound?

You get a cable included for wired listening as well and with the app. You can turn the noise-canceling function off or use the button on the right ear cup. Therefore, if you are a hip-hop fan, you can use the EQ to add energy to your tunes.

Comparison To Others

Compared to noise-canceling headphones in the price range, the sound is impressive. The bass gives you clarity and has a clear tone for closed-back earphones.

On the other hand, the JBL has more pizzazz in the bass department than the Audio Technica M50X Wireless. You can use the headphone to make and receive calls and performs well.

However, there is no side tone function to prevent you from hearing yourself in the earphones. Furthermore, it does not have aware ambient mode either.

Alternatively, if you are looking for the top noise cancellation, these do muffle out street noise but is not the best as Bose. Further, we do not recommend wearing them on hot days outside as it steams up the ears.

Is the Battery Life any Good

You get a decent battery rate of 20-hours for listening to tunes while using the noise canceling function. Alternatively, you get a quick charge for an extra two hours of juice.

Thumbs down is the micro USB charging compared to the latest USBC-C. The fact is most brands are moving over to the new charging technology.

When it comes to sound, you will not be left disappointed, and the price is perfect.
